Chemical waste gas treatment

Industry Introduction

Chemical waste gas comes from toxic and harmful gases discharged from chemical plants in chemical production. The composition of chemical waste gas produced by different chemical production industries is very different, there are many types of pollutants, the physical and chemical properties are complex, and the toxicity is not the same, which seriously pollutes the environment and affects human health. The floating particles discharged from chemical production include dust, flue gas, acid mist, etc., and there are many kinds of them, which are more harmful to the environment.

Industry characteristics

Chemical waste gas is generally divided into the following three categories

1. Sulfur-containing compounds, such as hydrogen sulfide, mercaptans, dimethyl sulfide, thioethers and sulfur-containing heterocyclic compounds, etc.

2. Nitrogen-containing compounds, such as ammonia, amines, nitriles, nitro compounds and nitrogen-containing heterocyclic compounds, etc.

3. Carbon, hydrogen, or compounds composed of carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen (lower alcohols, aldehydes, fatty acids, etc.).

Among the eight malodorous substances that have a greater impact on the human body are hydrogen sulfide, ammonia, trimethylamine, methyl mercaptan, methyl sulfide, carbon disulfide, styrene, and dimethyl disulfide. The foul gas we usually refer to refers to the gas with a foul smell diffused in the air.

Chemical waste gas treatment

Exhaust gas collection + wet scrubber + UV photolysis purification equipment + activated carbon adsorption equipment + centrifugal fan

Brief description of the recommended treatment process:

Use the scrubber to reduce the temperature of the exhaust gas and remove the dust and water-soluble substances in the exhaust gas. If it is acidic exhaust gas, add caustic soda to neutralize the pH value of the exhaust gas. Use UV photolysis equipment to decompose and oxidize the exhaust gas molecules to decompose the organic exhaust gas. CO2 and H2O can simultaneously oxidize hydrogen sulfide, ammonia, etc. into sulfate ions and nitrate ions, ultimately achieving the purpose of removing odors.

Waste gas treatment process:

In the chemical plant waste gas treatment process, the waste gas is collected by the air collecting hood and is sucked into the waste gas purification tower through the waste gas filter under the negative pressure generated by the fan, and then is absorbed and purified. Then enter the plasma exhaust gas purifier, use corona to degrade large molecules into non-polluting small molecule gases, and use high-concentration ozone for strong oxidation. At the same time, the exhaust gas molecules are adsorbed on the wall of the plasma tube, causing it to transform from a gaseous state to a liquid state. Then through the blower that drives the process, the up-to-standard gas is discharged into the atmosphere. At present, there are many ways to treat chemical waste gas VOCs in the market, but which method is used depends on the chemical and physical properties of the waste gas, concentration, emission volume, emission standards, pollutants in the waste gas and related treatment Process unit, for a kind of waste gas to be treated, how to choose the processing unit and whether to combine the process units depends on the types of pollutants in the waste gas, the concentration of pollutants, and the treatment requirements.
